CANCELLED due to COVID-19
Since its founding in 1945, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has grown into an international force in music-making, providing an endless source of inspiration to Atlantans while exporting our city's uniqueness to communities around the globe. During the 2019-20 season, there is much to celebrate: it is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven, and it is our 75th anniversary season.
In recognition of this major milestone in the life of the Orchestra, the ASO presents one of the most profound works in the choral literature: Beethoven's Missa solemnis. Robert Spano brings stellar voices from the opera world together with the internationally acclaimed Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus for an unforgettable performance of the Beethoven masterpiece. These concerts will be performed in Atlanta prior to a tour to New York's Carnegie Hall.
